Should windows be cut from inside or out?
If your basement is unfinished we would recomend that you cut your windows from the inside, this will eliminate overcuts on the outside. You will have overcuts inside, but these can be patched and will be behind your window frame and drywall.

What are overcuts?
Since the cutting is being done with a circular sawblade. The cuts will need to extend out further from the corner in order to square up in the corners on the other side. These overcuts cuts can easily be patched.
